Ceramsite Application Fields Part I
Ceramsite, also known as lightweight aggregate for construction, is an artificial lightweight aggregate made of inorganic materials such as shale, clay (or silt clay), coal grinding stone, fly ash, etc. as the main raw materials, which is made by batching, processing granulation or balling, and high-temperature roasting.
Application fields of ceramsite:
01 Ceramsite wallboard
Ceramsite concrete wallboard is a lightweight wallboard made of lightweight aggregate concrete prepared with lightweight ceramsite, ceramic sand, cement, sand, aerating agent and water, with a built-in steel skeleton, and is cast, molded, and cured (steamed, autoclaved). It is suitable for residential, public buildings and high-rise building interior partition walls. It has high strength, light weight, and is easy to carry and install. Ceramsite concrete wallboard not only maintains the various superior physical properties of ordinary concrete, but also takes into account the characteristics of lightweight aggregate insulation, sound absorption, fire resistance, moisture resistance, etc. It has many advantages such as light weight, easy installation, excellent structural seismic performance, small plate section, time saving, labor saving, and material saving. The application of ceramsite concrete partition board is already quite common, and it is a very good interior wall material. When used as an exterior wall enclosure material and steel structure for assembly, it has been increasingly used due to its structural bearing capacity, durability, decorativeness and other characteristics. The enclosure structure exterior wall panels represented by lightweight aggregate concrete composite decorative integrated wall panels and lightweight aggregate concrete external wall panels can meet the various performance requirements of the enclosure wall materials for assembled houses. They have the advantages of fast construction speed, beautiful building facades, good waterproof effect and environmental protection. At the same time, lightweight aggregate concrete roof panels are very suitable for use in steel structure assembled buildings, especially in large public space structures, such as railway platforms and large factories. It can meet the requirements of such buildings for light weight, large bearing capacity and good impact resistance of roof panels.
02 Track sound-absorbing panels and sound barriers
With the development of my country's high-speed railways and rail transit, many related product technologies have been promoted and applied. Track sound-absorbing panels are supporting products that have emerged with the development of ballastless tracks. Since ceramsite is a porous lightweight aggregate with good sound absorption and noise reduction performance and certain mechanical strength, ceramsite concrete is mainly used to make rail sound-absorbing panels at home and abroad. The dry mixing method is mainly used to mix porous lightweight aggregate with a particle size of 2mm~4mm or 4mm~8mm with cementitious materials, admixtures, etc. to prepare lightweight aggregate concrete and compress it into rail transit sound-absorbing panels through template compression. It is mainly used in high-speed railway tunnel sections, tunnel sections where the noise inside rail transit vehicles exceeds the standard, and elevated or ground sections with noise-sensitive points in rail transit.
03 Ceramic blocks, ceramsite bricks
Ceramic concrete hollow blocks, solid blocks and ceramsite bricks are made of ceramsite as coarse aggregate and cement as cementitious material, and are made by mechanical mixing, mechanical molding and natural curing. It is strong and not easy to crack, has excellent sound insulation and heat insulation performance, and is easy to decorate. The ceramsite blocks are used as wall materials and can be painted without hollowing. They can be nailed directly to the wall or expansion screws can be screwed without wooden anvils, etc., and they are highly firm. They are ideal self-insulating and energy-saving wall materials for energy-saving buildings, and can create significant economic and social benefits for construction units. Ceramsite concrete blocks and ceramsite bricks are divided into solid and hollow types. The average bulk density of hollow blocks does not exceed 960kg/m, which is 1/2 of clay bricks. It can reduce the weight of the building by more than 20%, and the thermal conductivity is 0.11w/m.K. The heat loss is 10 times smaller than that of aerated alkali and 4 times smaller than that of clay bricks. It has good thermal insulation and heat insulation performance.
04 Ceramsite concrete
Ceramsite concrete uses ceramsite instead of stone as the aggregate of concrete. Clay, sub-clay and other materials are used as the main raw materials. After processing, granulation and expansion, the light coarse aggregate with a particle size of more than 5mm is called clay ceramsite, and the light fine aggregate with a particle size of less than 5mm is called clay sand. Full light concrete is a lightweight concrete made by mixing lightweight ceramsite, cement, admixtures and water in a certain proportion, stirring, pouring and curing. It is used for cement-based bases and overall surface layers of floors and roofs. It has the advantages of good thermal insulation performance, good sound insulation effect, low density, high compressive strength, good frost resistance, good deformation performance, light weight, fire resistance and simple construction process. Recently, it has been widely used in the construction of large-span bridges, high-rise buildings, and super-high-rise buildings.
